disk boot failure

Lauren

I just bought a new hard drive and had to reinstall
WIndows XP (long story.. bacically my computer just kept
restarting itself.. never loading Windows).

I installed XP home just fine, it works. However, when I
restart the computer it always comes up with an error
message "Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press
enter." Once I insert the XP installation disk it works
fine.

How do I get the message to not appear? I've checked my
BIOS settings, and they're at default.

Thanks.

Lauren, go back into the Bios and set your Hard Drive as first boot
device.

Unhide your system files and look at your boot.ini file to see where it is
pointing to. If you are not familar with your boot.ini file you might stick
in your XP CD and do a boot repair.
