Disinstalled windows software from laptop

System provided Microsoft Office Basic Edition 2003 mistakenly installed on
laptop not system assigned too. (Son has aways at school). Now laptop reads,
"Windows Activation Required". How do you disinstall as laptop did not come
with any disks. Thanks for your help.

There is no "uninstall", at least that I can figure in what I understand
from the given information.

If I am *guessing* correctly - you installed Office Basic Edition on a
system without a license? Add/remove programs in the control panel should
get rid of the unusable software. As for activation - what happens when you
try Internet Activation or Phone Activation?
