I thought I had sent this but it hasn't shown up so am sending it again - I
would rather not use the fp discussion web for our message board - is there
an easy, free bb that anyone would recommend?

thanks!

Pam

Iknow what you're going to say .... but ... my server is a Unix/Apache - so
no asp .... I do have MySQL (which I've kinda looked at.....but have no big
clue) .. so I guess I need something that will work on that ... any other
sites you know of?

thanks

Pam

Any of the phpbb's should work, PHPbb, Nukebb etc. most of them are free.

for which server side language? Asp, PHP or Perl/Cgi? (to name the common ones).

there is YaBB for perl./cgi (www.yabb.com I think)
phpBB or somthing for php (a common application that is quite popular).
and I use www.Duware.com's bulletin/discussion board for ASP (they have a range
of other applications also - free and pay-for versions. You have to keep a link
back to them and a "powered by" logo or something but otherwise it can be
designed in line with your site's look and feel.

These may be above and beyond your requirements, but they are more advanced than
the FP discussion board and require membership/logons to post messages.
