disconnected network drive

I have a small network of XP & XP home pc's it seems to
work perfectly untill I try to move multiple files to a
mapped network drive - then occasionally I get the
message "disconnected network drive" Nothing I do seem to
fix the issue including rebooting all pc's - but
eventually the drive show up again and work perfectly
till I try moving multiple files again. Any Ideas would
be appreciated.

I may have stumbled upon something but I'm not sure what it means. Using
the wizard to setup a home network I just change the Workgroup name then
proceed to the end and as it is trying to complete the process I get a
spooler error. The process completes but this doesn't make sense since I am
not doing anything to the printers.

Any ideas anyone?

I too suffer from this disastrus situation.
I have MS looking into for over a week with lots of stupid suggestions
Hacking registry seems to be their preferred method at th mo.

My problem is that the drives are described as disconnected, but not
actually so. Cos I can read the files on these servers np. Oddly it's
a normal icon too rather than a red disconnected icons...

Net use fL /delete te will not work - cannot find network connection
Net use f: \\server\files - local name already in use
Drives not listed in a net use command.
They appear in explorer - and I can't right click disconnect eother.
Explorer's map network tool refuses to list drives that are already
connected.

Most odd. Good old MS. A real prickly problem this one.
Thousands of posts on it elsewhere. Not one sensible explanation or
solution.
