Hi, On my Win2k Pro machines, in Windows Explorer the network drives show up
with a little red X on the icon, from other apps I cant get to the drive,
but once I have opened the mapped drive in explorer I can access from other
apps. Where is the setting to change this behaviour, I want to turn it off,
users are only given access to the mappings they require so this just gets
in the way.

Regards

Jonathan.

Jonathan,

If you are mapping the drives via a logon script, and want to ensure they
are there, or ensure they are deleted, you can use the "NET USE" command.

For instance, NET USE DriveLetter: /Delete or NET USE Z: \\server\folder

For more information look up the NET command :)

Cheers,

No, The logon script mappings work, its just that after a few minutes if the
drives are not accessed they 'disconnect'. Opening a drive in explorer re
connects them I just wanted to turn this behaviour off so that the mapped
drives were always on.
