Disconnect while capturing

Problems encounter:
1. Disconnect while capturing for about 2 to 3 minutes, given message fail
to recognise the present of camcorder though the firewire connected HC21E was
still on.
2. It did work once in capturing part but not whole of the microDV tape. The
file size 3.5G. But the result wasn't good, choppy picture when played in
MVP10 and DVD dics.

Specs:
Sony DCR-HC21E
XP Pro, PIII 800 Mghz 384M RAM
Firewire cable and PCI card
HDD 40G free

Sounds like an insufficient power issue.

problems were fixed after changed the PCI card together with the firewire.
it's now capturing perfectly well in a whole piece 60 minutes of microdv
tape, eaten up 12G HDD.

Oh yes, you need big hard drives for digital editing. I've had files of
66gb on mine!
