My disc drives aren't in My Computer. I can't try to restore the problem
with my windows disc because the drives aren't recognized by Windows. Is
there a spot on the internet where I can download XP using my key to fix the
problem? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks

go into your cmos by pressing an fkey or del key as
you powerup the pc. then ensure that your cd
drive is enabled and bootable. you might want
to see if your harddrives are also found, while
your in the cmos..

this will allow you to do the repair you
wanted...

Did you recently uninstall Roxio/ Nero? you need to delete the upper
and lower limits from the registry This worked for me

Run REGEDIT, open up the following folders:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After clicking on {4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} you should
see two settings on the right-hand side:
"Upperfilters"
"Lowerfilters"

Click on each of them, press DELETE and click YES.
