Disc Cleanup never stops searching

When I try to do a disc cleanup, the cleanup utility
nevever stops searching. I am using XP-Pro and attempting
to use the Window's Disc Clean Up utility. Anyone know of
a fix?

Hello!
1. Start> Run >type regedit >ok
2. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVers i
on\Explorer\Volume Caches
3. Open "Compress Old Files" folder
4. Delete all files in this folder
5. Reboot
6. Run Disk Cleanup

Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.
