Disc Check

Hi All
Could someone help me please. My problem is that
if I ask for a disc check through the tools menu in my
computer when i shutdown/restart my system goes straight
to normal desk top without doing a check of my hard
drive.Am I doing something wrong.

Have you recently installed ZoneAlarm version 5. Such a problem
is associated with that version.
