disappearing printers

Running XP Home & am encountering printers disappearing.
When I check in control panel, it shows no available
printers. I can do a system restore which will get them
back for a short period of time, only to have them gone
next time I get on the computer. Running HP psc 750 All-
In-One & have not had any problems with it up until now.
Also affects Winfax printer...will not allow me to attach
files to faxes as no printer available...Help please!
