Disappearing Outlook Personal Folders

This is the third time that I've turned on my computer to find that my
personal folders in Outlook have disapeared. I can reinstte from my external
backup but ould like to prventthis happening again. Anybody got any ideas?

to see them again (no need to use a backup):

in Outlook, File | open | outlook data file.

Maybe you should reset the Navigation Pane using the Commandline switch.
