A couple weeks ago, I had some corrupted system files that did not let me
bootup. Sugested to use the original Windows XP CD to use the Repair Console,
but that did not help at all; so I copied while in the console several
important files to a partition in a second hard disk. I reformated and
reinstalled Windows XP from scratch, I checked the files I copied, they were
there. Them I inserted and installed SP2, when finished, the files were gone,
I though that SP2 erased the files but SP2 started acting up and I removed
SP2, the files came up and they were where I put them. When I reload Windows
XP for the second time, files were there but of course I had to load SP2
again and the files are gone. How can I retrieve those files without having
to uninstall SP2 again? Any sugestions or reason why this is happening?
Thanks in advance.
