Disappearing e-mails

Some of the mails in my Inbox seem to disappear after I open them. When I
search the specific mail, it shows up on the search list, although it doesn't
appear in the Inbox.
 
Sounds like your Inbox's view is set to hide read messages.
View - Current View - show all messages
