We have machines that need to share files and printers across subnets on
our network. With the firewall control panel in SP2 it's simple to open a
hole for file sharing. Alas, however, it's restricted to the local subnet.
How can I disable the local subnet restriction on SP2?

Thanks for the info. Cheers!

make your way to netsh in a command window
this has a huge list of goodies to work with SP2's firewall

It got this from the (June, windows 2000 mag )

Iam not 100 % with all this ( netsh ) has as of now.
Iam only two days in to SP2, so I will be back with more soon.
