Disabling BACKSPACE key shortcut?

Hi. I have to say that the MOST INFURIATING thing about IE
on Windows, is the fact that the standard delete key used
to edit data in forms on webpages is also the button for
going back a page in the history!!!

IT IS SO ANNOYING WHEN YOU COME TO DELETE SOMETHING AND
INTERNET EXPLORER TAKES U BACK A PAGE INSTEAD. It makes me
want to trounce on my PC and get on to Safari browser on a
Mac

Is there any way to disable this key shortcut from
Internet Explorer?

Depends on where is the focus when you hit a key. Hitting "a" while within
the body of a document in Word adds it to the document but hitting "a" while
some menu is displayed will execute the menu item that uses "a" as its
shortcut. Make sure focus is in the field you are editing.
