What is the quickest and most efficient way to turn off the wireless card on
my laptop?

Previous to Vista, I would have a Thinkpad hotkey function that would allow
me toggle the wireless on and off very easily. Now that I have upgraded, the
way I've been doing it is "right click my computer>manage>devices>right click
wireless card>disable"

Is there any way to do this from the network and sharing center? (right
click the little icon on task bar and click "network and sharing center")

I'm asking because sometimes, my computer doesn't handle a hardline and a
wireless working concurrently.

Look in your notebook manual but there should be an on/off switch at the
side of the notebook.

Go to Start Menu>Programs>Accessories>Windows Mobility Center (you can copy
the Mobility Center shortcut and put it anywhere).
