Hi Gang,

I love having UAC disabled, but now every time I start the computer a
system tray message is warning me that UAC is disabled. Can someone
tell me how to disable that message? I saw instructions for doing
this on the Business version, but I'm using Windows Vista Home
Premium.

Thanks,
Christian Blackburn

Hi Peter,
You are not able to and why would you want to do that

I'm almost certain that you can turn that message off. I want to turn
off that tray icon message box, because I already know UAC turned off
and I don't care and I don't enjoy windows yelling at me or a customer
about it. That is to say all dialogs telling me something I already
know are annoying, so any of those I can get rid of are to my
advantage.

Thanks,

I've found this. I don't know for sure whether it works:

-------------
3/ In Control panel click the Security Center Icon

4/ On the Left hand side of the Security Center window you will see a list
of option

5/ Click on the Change the way Security Center alerts me option

6/ Another box will now appear marked 'Do you want to be notified of
Security issues?'

7/ Look down the list of options and click on Don't notify me and don't
display the icon (not recommended) option

8/ The box will now close and Security center will no longer notify you of
any Security issues

Hi John,

Thanks for the link to the UAC tool, it didn't fix my specific issue,
but I like the ability to disable UAC for admins only, so you still
made it into this repair man's toolkit :).

Thanks,

Hi Mayana,

Thanks for your help. I was hoping to disable that specific error
message, however your solution (Disabling all warnings) will have to
work for the time being.

Thanks,

Are you saying the instructions explaining
how to disable the warning message are
not what you were seeking?
