Disable Remote Desktop Clipboard sharing?

The automatic clipboard sharing in Remote Desktop
(mstsc.exe) is convenient, but it would be nice to be able
to shut it off. If I have a remote session open, and the
remote PC is doing a lot of copying (ie an Excel macro is
running), my local clipboard is constantly getting new
data.

Does anyone know if it can be disabled? (Short of shutting
down the remote connection?)

You might look at configuring the Group Policy that deals with "clipboard redirection". Run
"Start -> Run -> gpedit.msc" and navigate to the "Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration ->
Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Terminal Services -> Client/Server data
redirection -> Do not allow clipboard redirection".

Thank you. I was out of the office and just got your post
today.
This worked, although I had to reboot the remote PC to
make it work ("gpupdate /force" did not seem to work).

I'm guessing the next answer is "no", but do you know of a
way to *allow* clipboard redirection, but not make it
*automatic*?
For example, PCAnywhere has an icon on the toolbar to copy
the clipboard from/to client/host.

I believe it is an all or nothing situation...Not as you describe with PCAnywhere...
