Disable programs at start-up

I want to prevent some of my installed programs from
starting when I reboot WinXP Pro. There is no option to
disable the start-up within the installed program(s) and
I remember in Win98 you could adjust the bootup options
via the System Information, but I'm not finding it on XP
Pro. Any ideas on how you stop programs from running at
restart? Thanks all!

You can use msconfig.exe for this, or remove shortcuts to these programs
from the startup "folder" in the Start menu.

Check for an option to not having the icon load in the System Tray via the
program(s) in question.

Other options for removal:

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig. Go to the Startup Tab and uncheck
accordingly. Then run this script to remove the disabled items from the
registry.

Just run "msconfig" and disable unwanted start-up items.
