Disable "New Message" Tray Icon

Is there a way to disable the envelope tray icon that
shows up whenever I get a new message? I have a rule
setup that deletes spam items, which is great, but then
it means I still have a "new message" icon in the system
tray, that makes me think there is still a message in my
inbox to check. I would rather just disable the icon
altogether.

In Outlook 2002, click Tools>Options>Preferences>E-mail Options>Advanced
E-mail Options and uncheck the "Show an envelope icon in the system tray"
box.
