Is there a way in Vista to disable the lock button? My grandmother keeps
hitting it instead of the power button to shut down and is getting a bit
frustrated with it and herself. If I can disable or change the button tho
also be a power-off button it would make it much easier on both of us.

Thanks

Hi George1,

There is a tool for Vista called TweakVI. It's a pay for tool, but has a fee
subset
available. The free version places large icons on your desktop for for
hibernate,
power, etc. Much easier to use than the start menu version.

There is no way to do this in Vista.

You can workaround this by creating a shortcut on the Desktop to shut down
the computer.

Right click the Desktop and select New/Shortcut.

In the first dialog type: shutdown.exe /s /t 005

Click Next and name the shortcut SHUTDOWN COMPUTER. Click the Finish
button. When she double clicks this file, the computer will shut down after
a 5 second delay.
