I've got a new Dell Dimension with AMD 3600 processor and Vista Home Premium.
My question is.. the power button does not shut down the PC. Instead, it
goes into hibernate mode. I've gone into Control Panel - Power Options (as
administrator) and made sure over and over again that its set to shut down
and still it does not shut down. What happens is when I mouse over my cursor
on the power button, the tool tip comes up and shows the text which says
'Saves your session and puts your computer in a low power state so you can
quickly resume working' ..which is the text for hibernate mode. I've tried
clicking on the button anyway and it does go into hibernate instead of shut
down.
The little shut down menu with the 'Shut Down' does work though but that is
besides the point. I'd like to be able to shut down the PC by clicking on the
power button. Any ideas anyone??? HELP !!!
