DISABLE FILE DRAG AND DROP?

B

Brad

Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to setup a
group policy or by any other registry means to possibly
DISABLE THE WINDOWS EXPLORER FILE DRAG-AND-DROP FEATURE
on my domain? My users are making me crazy
by "accidently" dragging and loosing their files.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

The best I have been able to find is (from Q284995):

In ADUC Group Policy:
1. Expand User Configuration, and then expand Windows Settings.
2. Under Windows Settings, expand Internet Explorer Maintenance, and then
click the Security object. In the right pane of Microsoft Management
Console (MMC), double-click Security Zones and Content Ratings.
3. Under Security Zones, click to select the Import the current security
zones settings check box, and then click the Modify Settings button.
4. Under the Select a Web content zone to specify its security settings
section, click My Computer, and then click Custom Level in the Security
level for this zone section.
5. Under the Miscellaneous section, under the "Drag-and-drop or copy and
paste files" option, change to Disabled.

I hope this helps you.

Cameron:)

No, its an itegral part of Windows explorer.
You can switch to MS-DOS , that has no Drag and drop.

You need to twach users how to use their keyboard and mouse properly
or use the CTRL+C, CTRL+X, CTRL+V shortcuts instead!
You could also deny DELETE permissions on their folders
