I am setting up an image for our 6,000 laptops on campus and am
starting to use sysprep to help out with slight hardware differences.
One of the things I did previously was have File and Printer Sharing
unbound from all network connections when the image goes out just for
security purposes. Now using sysprep the networking options get reset
and F&P Sharing is enabled. Does anyone know how to disable this
through the registry or by scripting it somehow?

Hi, Jeff -

I haven't tried this, but have you thought about
disabling the Server service before creating the sysprep
image? Might be worth a shot.

Good luck -

Allan,

Thanks for the reply. I think I will try that. It's
definitely easier than my original idea. The Computer
Browser service is the only one that depends on the
Server service and I think we can live without that so I
don't think it will be a problem.

Thanks again. -Jeff

Another option might be a GPO - you can disable peer-to-
peer networking services either as a domain or local
policy.

Hope this helps -
