Disable Drag and Drop in Windows Explorer

Marka

Hello,

Does anybody know how to disable windows explorer drag and
drop and keep cut copy and paste intact?

Users do this quite often which would cause a major problem if a full drive
or
directory is dragged and dropped somewhere by accident!

All feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

This is from winguides. I havent tried it yet so YMMV. There are quite a few
settings in the administrative templates that relate to Dragging and
Dropping in specific situations. Start menu, task scheduler, IE etc.
Microsoft has a great searchable spreadsheet taht has all Group Policy
settings documented. with 1600 settings there has to be some way to figure
all fo this stuff out <g>.

If the key on winguides works for you, deploying that setting to all systems
can be a challenge. You can script it. There are quite a few different ways
to do this. Or you can deploy this reg data with the registry extension of
Policy Maker. It is totally free. Policy Maker has many extensions the
Registry extension is the only one we make available for free. It get a ton
of use as you can imagine.

Good luck,

Kevin
