I have new computer with Win. XP home edition. Every time
I open windows Messenger, it signs in automatically. I
have tried EVERYTHING; all the usuals methods and
procedures including all the help and assist pages of
Microsoft etc. This is most unusual, and there is no
known reason why I can't disable auto sign in. Any help
is appreciated. Thankyou!

Greetings Mark,

To remove the saved Passport, which is what causes the automatic login, click the Start
Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel.
Select your account name, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click
'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport)
entry and click 'Remove'. Then restart Messenger and it will no longer auto login.

Jonathon,

It worked! You are an absolute Genius, suffice to say,
much more knowledgeable than the professional assistant
from Microsoft on the phone. Congratulations and
thankyou so much. Very much appreciated.
