Disable ALL autoformating of text

I pull my hair.
I bash my computer.
But word 2000 keeps autoformating text even though i
disabled it under the settings.
Word changes i to I.
Word makes links of email adresses, but i want them in
plain text.
Word changes the beginning of a word to a capital letter in
a new sentence.
I want it to stop.
I want to shut down ALL autoformatting of text.
Can it be done?
