DirectX won't install

I have recently formatted my system (a couple of times) Apparently DirectX
didn't install when I re-loaded everything. I have since downloaded any
DirectX SDK file I can find and loaded it without success. The diagnostic
software is on my system and shows that everything checks out OK but when I
go to play a game that requires DirectX, it tells me I have no DirectX
installed. What do I need to do to get this loaded?

Hi,

The DirectX SDK is different from the Direct X runtime. Installing the SDK
will not give you the direct x functionality. you will have to download it
seperately from this link.
