DirectX issues

I cannot start the Windows DVD maker and Movie maker in Vista. I get the
message that the video card does not support DirectX. Dxdiag both in Win XP
SP2 and Vista report no problems.

Can someone help me as to where the problem lies. As u can make out I have
an intel 865GBF motherboard and i'm using the onboard video controller

Hi,

The onboard video likely does not support DX9, and may not be supported at
all in Vista. Fortunately for you, this particular board also has an AGP
slot so you can at least add a Vista-compatible video card. If you do, you
will likely need to disable the on-board video in the system BIOS or by
means of a jumper on the motherboard.

I would like to draw your attention to the below extract of the Win XP
Dxdiag report as posted earlier

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Display Tab 1: No problems found. DirectDraw test results: All tests
were successful. Direct3D 7 test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D 8 test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D 9 test results: All tests were successful.

Does your suggestion still hold in the light of the above.

To support DX9 under Vista requires a different driver set than in XP, and
this is where it falls down.
