directx issue

Hi all,


i cant seem to get directx to install properly. it'll go
through the setup but when it tries to copy files i get an
error stating that it hasnt passed microsoft testing certs
and won't let me continue. any idea how to fix this?

You can try Start-Run 'dxdiag' and enable the "Check for WHQL digital
certificates" check-box. If it is the first time you've run dxdiag, it may
even prompt you to do this. Just click Yes.

That may get you past your problem.

If not, where are you installing DirectX from? Personally, I would only
install it from Windows Update, never from even a trusted third party site.

Carl,

I tried going through dxdiag and i couldn't find any
checkboxes for the digi cert. as for where i'm getting
directx from, its from microsoft directly. i might also add
that i'm unable to update to work, it keeps telling me i
have to update the update software.
