DirectX 9.0 Installing Problems

When I try to install directX 9.0, it fails and gives me a
popup that explains "Cabinet file necessary for
installation cannot be trusted." It says that I have
directX 8.0 What do i do?

What is your source? If you update your system to Windows XP SP2, you'll
automatically receive DirectX 9.0c. There is information here:
