Directory View?

Ok, this is but a minor annoyance, but here goes:

When I open Explorer, the directory tree is shown with the Documents
folder expanded and everything else collapsed. Example:
http://www.markbuckles.com/misc/default.jpg

Is there a way to make Explorer open with Documents collapsed and
the Computer folder expanded? Examle:
http://www.markbuckles.com/misc/desired.jpg

note: Silkie is what I renamed "My Computer" (I hate that "My" stuff).

Thanks!

Hi,

This KB article may be of some use to you:

How To Customize the Windows Explorer Views in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307856

That did the trick, thanks! :)

Another issue with which I need assistance: how does one permanently
delete the My Pictures and My Music folders? When I delete them, they
somehow regenerate. I have even tried deleting registry references to
them (using regedit), but they still reoccur. Grrrr....

I would also like to be rid of the MSN, MSN Gaming Zone, Netmeeting,
Outlook Express, and Xerox folders. Any way to permanently delete
them?

You are welcome ! All the folders that you have mentioned and you want to delete, are system folders
and hence cannot be deleted. Though you can change the locations of the My Music and My Pictures
folders.
