Directory Service Unavailable

Running XP Home Edition. Networking used to work fine, now
I can't access a thing. Have run network setup wizard
plenty of times. Problem seems to be an error
message "Directory Service Unavailable"
No help section on this.

Called Microsoft, paid my 35 bucks, the girl in India had
no clue.

anyone?
 
Could you perhaps provide some more information? You
can't (to my knowledge) add a Home version to the
directory. What are you doing (or trying to do) when you
get this error message? Are you running any specific
program when this happens? Is there any more info
provided, other than the generic message listed below?
