directory service error message

I keep getting this messagge in the event viewer on my first dc. Below the
server 'server48' which was a second dc and primary dns crashed a while
back. Since then I have another dc in place now making it a dns server etc
and the network is running ok.

I have had to trash the server 'server48'. But now i KEEP getting this
below. Please someone provide some practical steps please.

Were you able to gracefully demote server48 from its DC status? If not, you
should run a metadata cleanup on Active Directory to remove any "ghost"
entries that still refer to it:

If you're using standard (not AD-integrated) DNS, be sure to manually remove
all references to the failed server, as well.
