directory names does not use slashes it uses cross thru W

I am very confused. Can some explain how this happens and how I can fix it.
I believe this is the problem that is causing my problem.

Rob,

The directories names on my laptop do not use slashes it uses cross thru W.
Here is an example:

C:\Documents and Settings\Anthony Reed\My Documents\Military Items

How do I change the crossed out W to a /

I've never heard of a crossed out W...can it be a language or weird font
issue? ... foreign language machine? confused chinese chip?
