DirectDraw Unavailable, memory shows n/a; 3d Hardware support unav

I have a Nvidia 6200 256 MB AGP.
I have had it for a while, but today I installed MS Flight Simulator 2004,
which told me that it would not use 3d hardware acceleration because it was
not available.
I ran DXdiag and it reports my video memory as n/a (even though all other
tests report it as 256k) and also that DirectDraw is unavailable.
It does pass the 3d tests for 8 and 9 but fails on the test for DD7.

I am almost positive that I have run the most recent version of Links golf
with this card with no problems, although it has been a couple of years. I
tried running Links golf today and got the same 3d hardarwe missing report.

Today I installed the latest Nvidia drivers, the most recent DirectX, the
most recent chipset for my motherboard and the most recent MB BIOS. Needless
to say, no luck.

I wonder if maybe the newer NV drivers are messing with my older card, and
if I need to back track. However, I did install a driver from 10/05 and that
didn't work.

Further exploration:
Tried everything. Ran Cab Cleaner and Driver cleaner.
Also bought a new Radeon graphics card thinking maybe it was some corrupt
NVidia drivers.
Still no luck, however the 3D in the radeon control center works great!
I think it is corrupt DirectX, but I can't figure out any way to fix it. I
have reinstalled DirectX from the redistribution version twice and the web
version twice.
Also removed my agp cards and just installed the onboard vga drivers; still
no luck.
Someone out there must have an answer. Is there something that might block
DirectX from seeing the memory on the cards?

Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Dave

According to the manual/guide, it is only available
in 16-bit or 32-bit depth and to change color depth
display settings. See above link. Download PDF guide,
Scroll to trouble shooting.
