when i try to start LOTR the return of the king i get a message saying "could not find any compatible Direct3D devices with the required capabilities" i went to the EA Games sight and got a new driver for my video card (Sis 651) but it still wont work all the system requirements aer met and dxdiag shows no problems i seem to have tried everyting i need some help

It means that there's a feature in DirectX that your adapter doesn't support
in hardware. They don't specificially mention SIS in the requirements:

a.. 32 MB Direct3D capable video card using the NVIDIA®GeForce2 GTS or
greater, ATI Radeon 7500 or greater with DirectX 8.1 compatible driver


I notice SIS 651 is also a chipset. Are you using onboard video?

Also it won't work with another graphics controller-Intel 810/815/845 (my
PC uses this one) /865G, but the first LOTR game will work on these m, not
sure about SiS. The games would require a graphics chipset that has hardware
transform and lighting to run.
