Hello
I am trying to connect two desktops with a direct PC-to-
PC connection using an Ethernet Crossover Cable. One
system is on Windows 98 and the other is on Windows XP.
Both computers show the 'Local Area Connected' status,
but when going to My Network Places in Windows Explorer,
I can't locate the 'networked' computer from either PC.
I have set one PC IP Address to 198.168.0.1 with subnet
on 255.255.255.0, and the other PC IP address to
198.168.0.2, with subnet on 255.255.255.0
When check the LAN Connection Status, Send shows some
bytes, but Receive shows ZERO on both computers.
Both have been given a different Full Computer Name, and
the same Workgroup name.
I don't know what else to do in order to achieve the
following:
a. Share files & Printer
b. Share AOL Broadband Connection (on the Win XP machine)
Please help
