Direct Connection

I am unable to sucessfully connect two laptops running
2000, I'm using a parallel direct cable connection. When
the guest tries to log on the network name changes to
unathenticated user and the guest cannot see the shared
information on the other laptop. Your help will be greatly
appreciated.
 
First, for this connection you must use what is called a laplink cable. It
is not a normal parallel to parallel cable. It is thinner and has pinouts
designed just for this purpose.
Next, follow the steps in the Help menu. There are also a number of
websites that explain the steps in detail. Try googling direct cable
connection.
