Digital Image Suite 2006

Hi All,
My question is about Image Suite 2005. Is there a 30 day demo that I can
download for previewing? I would really like to buy this product, but without
being able to check it out I am a little bit concerned. I would like to be
able to compare it to Adobe PhotoShop Elements 3, Jasac and PhotoShop. I
favor MS products, but with the digital editing software, I would like to get
a feel for it before I buy.
Can anyone help with this question? Or has anyone compared it to others? Do
those of you that are using, like it?
I Thank-You in advance for any and all comments.

No trial download that I can see. I crawled all over. In fact it seems that
Image Suite 2006 is already out and about.

Here's a review:

Hi Galen, and thanks for the reply.
I had already researched and read all the reviews I could find including the
ones you provided links for. I have 30 day trials for other DI programs that
I mentiond and would really like to know what the MS DIS 2006 is like without
having to go into ot blind. Do you use it? and if so how do you like it and
how would you rate ie compared to the others? The cost really isnt bothering
me as they all are about the same. Is it as good or better than the others?
Does it work as advertised? Are the bugs I am reading about here isolated to
a few users or are they a real problem?
Again; Thank-You, Frank

I have used all previous versions and now the 2006 version. I also used PSE
2 and PSE 3.
Different approaches.
MS products use an interface to "hold the user hands" as editing goes on. So
it is a little slower than PSE 3, but there is very little to remember from
one editing session to the next.

If you are a "from time to time" user it is easier to use the MS product.
You can get it at www.costco.com for $46.00.

The MS product is limited regarding opening RAW files of only Canon and
Nikon cameras and possibly not the latest models. PSE 3 will open RAW files
from all cameras, as far as I know. May not be of importance to you if you
do not use the RAW format.

I prefer the MS product over PSE 3 to edit photos, but if you want to go
into deep editing the PSE 3 product has more options. I would call these
options photo manipulations or graphic artists manipulations rather than
just editing. A large number of tutorials available for this type of work
with PSE 3.

Thank-You all for your responses. I really do appriciate your time.
I do not think I would be using the RAW files as I just have a Kodak 5MPixel
camera
I dont think I would be doing much in the way of manipulation, although I
would like the ability to be able to either cut the front or background out.
I DO want to be able to create panarama views which I see that DIS 2006 has
the ability to do as well as PSE 3. The biggest thing I would like to do is
be able to touch up my photos (clean up, enhance). All in all I guess just
the general ability and then some is what I am looking for, which it sounds
like DIS 2006 would take care of. I have been a user of MS products for years
(only thing I know) and am use to thier way of doing things, so I guess I am
better off sticking to thier DI software as well.
Once Again, Thank-You,
Frankl
