Digital Id disconnects mail server connection

Hello there,

I'm using Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 with Windows Mail, and it works
fine until I install my Digital Id on my PC. I don't even have to import it
into Windows Mail - it's already been imported into the program when I open
it.

After installation of the Digital Id though, when I open Windows Mail and it
attempts to log on to my mail server at Yahoo, I am asked for my Digital Id's
password, which is surprising enough as there is nothing in my outbox waiting
to be sent, and neither the encryption nor digital signature option are
checked in the security settings. Once I've entered the correct password it
returns this error message:

"The server has unexpectedly closed the connection. This could be caused by
a problem on the server, network problems, or because the connection hasn't
been used for a long time. Account: '@@@@', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure (SSL): Yes, error code: 0x800CCC0F"

The Digital Id works fine on my XP machine with Outlook Express, and I also
don't have any problems logging onto web accounts with it. I have called the
Digital Id folks and although they did their utmost to help me, still no
solution and they haven't had this problem before they say! It's driving me
nuts! I have to keep deleting it from my PC when I want to receive mail, and
then reinstalling it when I want to log on from my Vista machine. But that's
a ridiculous situation and the idea was to be able to shut down my old XP
machine, but I'm forced to keep it running so that I am still able to send
and receive encrypted mails when necessary.

So, I'm really hoping that there's a genius out there who can help...
preferrably before I've pulled out all of my hair!!

I think the experts around here would say that "server has unexpectedly
closed the connection" is often or usually caused by an antivirus program.
What AV do you use?

Do you really need a Digital ID? Mail sent with the SSL option is already encrypted.
