Digital Camera trouble

I have just replaced my old PC with a new one running XP
Home. The problem I am having is that when i plug in my
digital camera (samsung digimax 201) instead of giving me
choices like on my old PC (open folder to view files
etc), I get an autoplay box which sits on the screen for
a while and then that goes and is replaced by the
contents of the camera (as F:), which it shows as empty.
It is also shown in the drive management screen
as "unreadable".

All the software is installed, drivers etc. The USB ports
are fine, as my scanner is working. The camera is fine,
it works on the old PC.

Any ideas anyone?

I had a similar problem with a sandisk reader on a usb 2 portnd with a Nikon Digital Camera. For some odd reason the Autoplay elements were not being displayed. Only the contents of the drive would be displayed. I tried everything until I realized that I installed MS Office 2003 small business and the MS Office Picture Manager became (not by my choosing) the default program for opening up picture files. After I reset all the extensions, everything worked fine again.
