digit grouping problem

hi,

how can i get this type of output in excel cell. eg Rs. 12,34,567.00. have
tried all the means. the steps that i have done is

control panel->regional options->in currency tab selected the digit
grouping to 12,34,567 format.

then i have applied it. after that when i try to make the display to show
me in this format then it just goes the old way of 123,456,789 way.

where am i going wrong.

Work on your file in 'Page Preview' view to see exactly how something will
print.

A custom format of
00","00","000.00
would solve your formatting problem (but will not omit unnecessary
commas). However, I can't figure out how this is causing Excel to crash
(the topic of this newsgroup).

well why is this error in excel though we have the setting given in regional
setting . there might surely be some fix for it, rather then customising the
cell format.
