different symbol (accented "e") appears when I type "/" on docs.

accented "E" also appears when shifted. Only happens when typing documents,
not when I search on net. Did not happen before in docs but does now, even
on old docs. Novice using word office 2007, Vista. Help! Thanks

You've accidentally switched to a different keyboard that happens to
be installed in Vista. You can toggle or cycle through your installed
keyboards with LeftAlt-Shift; if you don't want any extra keyboards
available, you can remove them in Start > Control Panel > Regional and
Language Options > Language, select the keyboard(s) you don't want
installed, and click Remove.
