Different size hard disks into one logical driveq

Hi!

I have an old server that i want to turn into a low speed
file server with Windows 2k server
It's got a smart2-sh array controller and 6 4.3gb hdds and
2 9.1 hdds. Problem is i need to join all of these into
one big logical drive, and still have a certain degree of
redundancy to prevent complete stop in case of hdd failure.
I tought about creating a 6 HDD RAID 5 and 2 9.1 HDD RAID
1 arrays. But then i don't know how i can join them both
into one logical drive. Any help would be appreciated!

You could create a volume set (Raid 0) between the RAID 5 and Raid 1.
However I would not do that. Instead I would create a mountpoint
mounting one of the drives as a folder in the other drive. That reduces
the chance of a problem.
