Different printers....

I have Word 2003 at work.
I have two printers, each connected to the same PC.

Can I set Word up to use one of the printers for all "letter size" doc types
and the other printer JUST for #10 envelopes??? That sure would be
convenient.

Please and Thanks for any/all suggestions & comments.

http://www.gmayor.com/fax_from_word.htm explains how to address different
printers. In this case I would also recommend the use of an envelope
template in which you can intercept the print command with the command to
change the default printer and then print to it (or you could simply use a
custom print button as described). You will find sample envelope templates
on the downloads page of my web site.

Well, I created the macro for Envelopes and it worked perfectly: but, when I
am in Word I do Tools>Letters&Mailings>Envelopes&Labels. Within that dialog
box, I choose my address from my address book and then usually click print,
but the default printer is not the one I want to use for envelopes How can I
get the newly created" Envelopes button" (that I created for the macro)
within that dialog box? Or, can I??
I hope this helps clarify my issue.

Thanks

You can't do this, which is why I suggested using a template for such
envelopes. You can download sample envelope templates (which integrate with
Outlook if required) from my web site.

Mr Mayor,
I apologize, but I have one more quick question. All is working well (for
the most part), with the exception of the envelope's orientation. Obviously,
addresses print in this format:
Mr xxx x xxxxx
11111 xxxxxxxxxx rd
xxxxxx, xx xxxxx

Now, no matter what I change, all the envelopes keep printing like this:
o xxx
p xxx
xxx
x
x
x
Text going from top (by flap) to bottom like it's printing in "portrait"
instead of landscape. I consider myself familiar enough to correct simple
orientation issues, but no matter what I try, they keep messing up! What
could I be missing?
I've copied the macro from your link identically (changed printer name of
course).
I don't see what within the macro that would cause this. Any suggestions
would be most appreciated.
Thanks

I had this same issue yesterday when I installed a new printer. The macro
does not affect this. Some printers feed envelopes from the narrow end
others from the wide end. You'll need to change the page orientation of the
envelope template to landscape and the paper size to envelope #10. (Practice
on plain paper :) )
