Different Orientations

I am using Power Point 2000
When I am creating power point slides and I sometimes want the first slide
to be "landscape" orientation and the 2nd slide to be "portrait" orientation.
But when I create the 1st slide in landscape, and then create the 2nd slide
in portrait, the first slide changes to portrait. Is there a way to do this
and keep each slide a different orientation if I want it to stay that way?
