Change orientation WITHOUT distorting objects

I have a presentation in landscape orientation with many objects on each
slide. I'm also using a slide master template for them.
I need to change the presentation to portrait orientation (which I did very
easaily in page setup), but I need to objects to keep their original
properties. When I switch from landscape to portrait, it seems that
everything becomes distorted to fit on the page, but I don't want this to
happen.
Anyone have a suggestion?
