Different IP address to different user

Did anyone know that for XP home OS, at the same
workstation, how can I assign different IP address to
different user while they log in ? Both using Local Area
Connection.

IP addresses have nothing to do with the user logged in - the computer
itself gets a DHCP configured address when it starts up and contacts the
DHCP server. A static address is just that - a static address -

What is the intended purpose?

the story is like this.
While user working at home, they have their own IP setting
given by their own ISP (which is static IP) in order to
connect to internet. But while they are at office, of
course they have to follow the office's IP setting to get
into office network.
So my intended purpose is to reduce the trouble of
changing the IP setting each time while they are at
home/office, may be user just logged on to different
profile to get into different network environment. Or can
I have another LAN connection icon to hold different IP ?

OK - so it has nothing to do with the user logged in, it has to do with the
network they connect the computer to. Have you tried using the alternate
configuration settings tab in the TCP/IP properties in WinXP? I've never
tried it for this purpose....

There are third party apps like NetSwitcher, but I've never used them.

I'm puzzled about why he'd need a static IP to connect to the Internet at
home, though - is it a public IP address? That would be most unusual - hope
he has his firewall enabled. Might behoove him to pick up a small broadband
router that does NAT and DHCP (and has an internal firewall) for home, as
well...
