Difference between Serial ATA-300 and Serial ATA II

What is the difference between Serial ATA-300 and Serial ATA II.

I thought they were the same thing, but in dabs.com, you can filter
motherboards into the above, both providing different results.

The second one is the later faster variant. Its mostly backwards compatible with the original one.
